About the service
Periodontal disease is an infection which leads to loss of the tissue and bone which support the teeth. Left untreated, periodontal disease often leads to tooth loss.
Dr. Hill and the hygienists at Madison Lakes Dental are committed to helping you understand the warning signs of periodontal disease and the treatments available to manage this disease.
Regular dental cleanings can significantly reduce the risk of periodontal disease. As a standard part of each cleaning, your hygienist will:
- Measure the pocket depth around each of your teeth
- Evaluate bleeding and inflammation
- Use digital imaging to evaluate bone health
Information gathered by your hygienist is shared with you to give you a full understanding of the health of your mouth.
Periodental Disease Treatment
Periodontal disease can be treated and managed in our office. Scaling and Root Planing procedures are often recommended for patients exhibiting signs of periodontal disease. This non-surgical procedure is performed with local anesthetic and removes bacteria and deposits that contribute to periodontal disease.
The hygienists will explain every step of the process and work closely with you to manage the disease to keep your teeth for life.
